Tie-dying is one of my favorite summer activities because you never know what the finished product will look like! Before you begin, soak your shirt in cool water and ring the water out. To get the ombre look, squirt the dye onto the shirt and take a paint brush and stroke it upward. Dip the brush in water and keep brushing up - the color will begin to fade.
When you're done, put your shirt in a bag (don't just throw it in or else the colors will be everywhere but it doesn't matter if its just tye-dye) and let it sit 7-8 hours. Run it under water and ring out the dye. Don't freak out if a lot of the dye is coming out, it's suppose to. You can cut your shirt into a crop trop or tank when you're done - the possibilities are endless!
